The memorial to the fallen of the Second World War stands on Námestie slobody in Sabinov. It was created in 1947 by the academic sculptor Ján Hučko.
For decades it faced arrivals from Prešov. In 2011, during the reconstruction of the square, it was moved to its present location. On commemorative occasions it also recalls the liberation of the town on 20 January 1945.
