Švabľovka Forest Park is a popular recreation area on the southern edge of Sabinov. It lies between the Spiš-Šariš Intermontane and the Bachureň Mountains and can be reached easily on foot from the town centre.
The place is also known for the sulphur mineral spring of Švabľovka. Small baths already existed near the spring at the end of the 15th century and the water was used especially for rheumatic and skin conditions.
Today
Visitors will find marked walking and educational trails, shelters, benches, fire pits, information boards and learning elements about local fauna and flora.
One of the favourite destinations is the lookout tower on Šanec hill, offering views of Sabinov and the surrounding landscape.
