Námestie slobody is the historic and social centre of Sabinov. It originated in the Middle Ages and has preserved its lens-shaped layout, typical of several old royal towns.
The square is lined with historic burgher houses. Its landmarks include the Roman Catholic church, Renaissance bell tower, town hall and film locations connected with The Shop on Main Street.
